Passion for Wood at the Modefabriek…Rai, Amsterdam

Posted in Art, Feature by Anne Bernecker on 30 July, 2010

“Woodwalk” is a 25-pair limited edition of wooden footwear by Paul Coudamy for K-Swiss.

“Wooden Textiles” by Elisa Strozyk is an approach to responsible thinking concerning lifecycles of products. The outcome is a material that is half wood-half textile, between hard and soft, challenging what can be expected from a material or category.

“Giacca di Jeans” and “Borsa del Pittoreee” by artist Livio De Marchi.

Isn’t that a brilliant Bathtub by Anna Van Der Lei? The specially designed joints expand when they become wet, the wood gives out a pleasant pine aroma when the bath is filled and you can also gently steam your clothes while you are bathing.

Tweelink presents the Woody Workshop. Woody’s originate from wooden waste material like shelfs, fallen branches, old toys and lollipop sticks. Cute!

Love Elisa’s wooden textiles since the first time I saw them, but also that jacket and bag are amazing!
